A Fiery Unrest: Why Plymouth Avenue Burned

North Minneapolis is no stranger to social uprisings, a result of centuries of disinvestment, unjust systems of oppression, and a community of activists fighting for social change. History provides us with helpful context to understand the unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. A Fiery Unrest: Why Plymouth Avenue Burned in July 1967, a documentary produced in 2019 by Nancy Rosenbaum, explores the causes and consequences of violence and destruction that erupted in North Minneapolis in the summer of 1967.
